Interactions between emerging chemical contaminants and aquatic biota that contribute in developing bioremediation strategy

Doctoral programa in Molecular and Applied Biology (PD_BMA) in the University of Uminho.

Thesis Title: Interactions between emerging chemical contaminants and aquatic biota that contribute in developing bioremediation strategy

The main goal of this thesis is to understand the effects of emerging chemical contaminants (ECCs) in aquatic environments and how the lotic and lentic system can cope with their presence, alone and in mixture.

PhD Thesis started on October 1th 2016 and is currentely delayed due to multiple factors (COVID-19 lockdowns, the cancellation of a 6th month internship on the University of Ghent and subsequent reworking of lost thesis content due to COVID-19, premature end of schoolorship and 1 year of well documented health complications). Current Thesis delivery predicted for 31 of January 2022. 

Scholorship  UMINHO/BD/24/2016 started October 1st 2016 and ended 31 of November 2020. No COVID-19 mitigation scholorship was given following the FCT standard given to other students suffering from the impacts of COVID-19 thesis delays.
